Students in Coláiste na Coiribe are encouraged to develop their leadership skills in myriad ways and this experience will stand to them for life. Our student leaders promote important school values in their everyday behavior and attitude.
These values, including friendship and empathy, respect, diligence, resilience, honesty, responsibility and awareness are evident in the work of student leaders on the Student Council, in their role as sports coaches to the younger student cohort and by their participation in the LIFT leadership programme and the Mentoring First Years CAIRDE programme.
Students also demonstrate leadership by grasping the opportunity, particularly in Transition Year, to try new experiences outside the curriculum and challenge themselves by taking part in Gaisce. Here in Coláiste na Coiribe students are encouraged to be open minded, an attitude that will stand to them in later life.
Our students are leaders in their commitment to the Irish language and culture and the work of Coiste Gaeilge na Macléinn organising social activities and promoting pride about being a Scoil Lán Ghaeilge (soon to be Scoil Gaeltachta) adds to the positive atmosphere in the school.
