GAISCE
Is é Gradam an Uachtaráin – ar a dtugtar Gaisce – clár féinfhorbartha do dhaoine óga in Éirinn atá idir 15 agus 25 bliain d’aois. Le gradam Gaisce a bhaint amach, cuireann scoláirí dúshlán dian rompu in limistéar éagsúla gníomhaíochta:

- Rannpháirtíocht an phobail
- Scil phearsanta
- Caitheamh aimsire fisiciúil
Tá 26 seachtain le caitheamh ar ghníomh amháin agus 13 seachtain le caitheamh ar dhá ghníomh eile. Nuair atá na dúshláin thuas críochnaithe ag scoláirí, caithfidh siad Aistear Eachtraíochta thar oíche a dhéanamh chun an gradam cré-umha a fháil. Gaisce – The President’s Award is the National Challenge Award from the president of Ireland to young people between the ages of 14-25. In order to achieve a Gaisce Award, a participant must engage in four separate activities in their own time:
- a community involvement,
- a personal skill
- a physical recreation
Students must engage in one of the above activities for a total of 26 weeks and two other activities for 13 weeks each. When the above challenges are complete, students must participate in an overnight Adventure Journey to achieve the Bronze President’s Award. Parents/Guardians must complete a consent form before students can be registered for GAISCE.
